Aztec, floral, acid-wash, pin-stripe, checked and tie dye. We are going to bring you some of the quirky styles of leggings that girls have been rocking this season.
From the weird and wonderful buried in our wardrobes to the mainstream high street favourites. Leggings are an easy and affordable way to brighten up your look while the weather remains dull, as well as keeping up with recent trends this month. Below we have compiled some of this seasons favourite styles that we have seen exhibited in Bournemouth.
Monochrome Check: Rather than opting for the typical light spring colours, these black and white monochrome, checked leggings show how dark colours can be worn throughout the season. Due to the heavy design print on the leggings you can accompany this with a plain black or white top.
Leather Panelled: This versatile electric blue pair of leggings are an example of how bright colours can be worn either casually, during the day or dressed up for a night out. The black leather panel incorporated down the sides of the leggings is an example how different textures are being used more and more.
Tie Dye: These tie dye leggings are the definition of quirky and our favourite out of the bunch. The navy blue is not too over-powering, which makes it easier to pair up with other garments. Rather than opting for a pair of leggings solely based round one colour, why not opt for a daring pair of leggings like this, which are a popular choice as the weather gets warmer.
Duotone: These duotone leggings give a new look to the usual acid wash ones popular in the high-street stores. Channelling the hippy-chic, dip dyed trend, they are best paired with dark clothes which blend with one of the two colours.
Disco Pants: These are a renowned choice for evening wear, but still very popular on the streets during the day. With the high-shine adding something new to a standard black pair of leggings, they make a casual outfit look more smart.
Hounds tooth: This is a classic that has become more popular recently and adds sophistication a pair of standard leggings. Again due to the pattern on these leggings you would ideally accompany this with a plain top and jacket.
Although the mainstream high street stores are mainly offering checked styles, the more bespoke the shop you look in, the more unique the leggings you will find. In our eyes topshop still offer the best quality of leggings, however New Look are offering similar styles at a cheaper price. Below are our favourite picks.
