Player ratings: Man City v AFC Bournemouth

Sports editor Liam Grace reports the player ratings after today’s Man City v AFC Bournemouth match at Etihad stadium.

Federici - 4 - The Cherries goalkeeper made one great save but this was cancelled out by two absolute clangers. He was also only player to not applause the 3,500 travelling supporters at full time.

Francis - 5 - He showed tremendous force going forward but just couldn’t cope with De Bruyne.

Distin - 5 - The player was mainly solid but prone to the odd mistake. As well as this, he struggled to keep up with the pace of Sterling.

Cook - 5 - see Distin.

Daniels - 5 - He made some key tackles but looked nervous going forward.

Ritchie - 6 - The player made some good runs but it was clear he was not at his usual best.

Surman - 4 - The player remained a constant liability today and gave away possession very cheaply.

Gosling - 5 - He played a very quiet game, with nothing special to report.

O’Kane - 5 - The player did well to get into space behind Murray but struggled when City hit on the break.

Smith - 6 - He had good pace and skill going forward and ran rings around Sanga all day. However, he struggled defensively.

Murray - 7 - It’s clear Murray worked his socks off and bagged a well deserved goal.

Subs:
King - 3 - King came on with 20 minutes to go, and unfortunately only touched the ball once, missing a good chance.

MacDonald - 6 - The player replaced O’Kane and looked much more solid defensively.

Pugh - 6 - He was his usual self, showing great skill and trickery, but didn’t have enough time to make an impact.
