Bournemouth Marketing Christmas Cheer

Bournemouth Christmas market opened again this year and even though it is only mid-November appears as busy as ever with Christmas shoppers.

The market offers wide variety of both stalls and entertainment, not to mention plenty of tasty treats to help warm you on a cold winters visit. You can have the authentic German Christmas experience with delicious sausages at the bratwurst house or stop in for a Garman beer or tasty mulled wine; served in an adorable boot at the bar.

mulled-wineThe atmosphere in the bar is so friendly and welcoming big tables to share or just stay at the bar if you prefer. With treats like mice pies and authentic German beer it is hard to pull away to explore the rest of the market

I spoke to Emma, a local Bournemouth student at the market “I think it’s lovely, a really warming experience. The bratwurst stall really made it feel like a genuine Germanic Christmas market, my dad lives in Switzerland so it brings back nice memories. There is a lot that could be added but it really brings out the Christmas spirit.”

There are plenty of things to buy at the Christmas market if you’re stuck for gifts this year. Ranging from beautifully carved wooden ornaments and even small pieces of furniture which would set you back a few pounds but it worth it for something so well crafted. If you are after something a bit smaller or for a tighter budget there are excellent wool craft stalls where you can get cosy socks, scarves and very sweet felted toys.

One of my favourite stops at the market is the crepe stall, if you have a sweet tooth this is the place to be. There are few better things than hot chocolatey goodness on a cold windy day. It’s quick and is the perfect afternoon snack to pick you up if you hit the mid-shopping lull.

Food being one of the greater pleasures in life it is a joy to go around the market eyeing up all the delicious options. The Christmas classic roasted chestnuts and the roast pork and chicken cabin is hard to resist it smells so good.

For me the thing that made the market really atmospheric was the live music they had on stage as you walked around. It really rounded off the Christmas feel I highly recommend a visit!
